Shole Zard which is a kind of Saffron rice pudding is something that Iranian people make not as something to have regularly, it is made on special occasions and normally it is called Nazri
They make and give it to neighbors, relatives as well as needy people.
Anyways, I made it as well in my village house and shared it with neighbors as it is a tradition and reminds me of memories I had in my grandmother’s house in weekends.

Ingredients
- Short grain Rice
- 250 grams Sugar
- silverd almond
- Silvered Pistachios
- Saffron
- Cinnamon
- Rose water
- Butter
Instructions
- Bring water to boil
- Add short-grain rice wait until the rice gets pasty
- Add sugar (stir every 2 minutes for half an hour
- Add butter
- Brew the Saffron
- Add to the rice
- Stir constantly
- Add slivered almond
- It is ready once it becomes condensed
- Design it with slivered almond and pistachios
- As well as cinnamon
